The first initial brief was to create a 3 piece suite of lighting for a hotel room. These could be any form of lights for any style of hotel, as long as the characteristics flowed from one to the other so that you were able to tell they're a family.

My family of lighting consists of a floor lamp, a table lamp and a pendant light. The design of them is very minimal so therefore they can then fit into a range of hotels.

The design itself is a play of the stereotypical shape of the lamp shade, so when looking at my lights from directly side on the just look like anything else but then when you see the light coming out the them but no light bulb it it makes the user look twice. The reason there's no light bulb is because an LED strip run inside a crevice in all of the bottom rings of the shades.

The wiring for these lights will also be hidden, it will simply run through the hollow frame of the lights so then it doesn't interfere with the whole design and illusion they're meant to create.
